The activity of carrying the bowl as if you were carrying it to an altar – the holding of any object as if it were the grail 🙂 – is about touching the sacred within you. This felt quality of the sacred is, somewhat surprisingly, an inherent quality of human life. We swim in it. The more you ‘imbue’ the sacred into life, and take a step towards it, it runs three towards you. The joy of the sacred is the enjoyment of fulfillment, of the moment, the activity – so-called ordinary life – is ‘raised’, illuminated by the sacred, to extra-ordinary ordinariness. It is the most enlivening, enriching act I know of. And its free to a good home.
